Experimenting on black paper with colored pencils, I was reminded of the rich tapestry-like and tropical designs of Laurel Burch. I was saddened to discover this remarkable artist passed away a year ago at 61 from complications of osteoporosis.
From her website: I live within the vivid colors of my imagination … soaring with rainbow feathered birds, racing the desert winds on horseback, wrapped in ancient tribal jewels, dancing with mythical tigers in steamy jungles.
If you want to learn more about this remarkable artist and her vision, be sure and read her obituary here.
In the meantime, I will continue to be inspired.
So, what artists inspire you?
Sue, this is really lovely (although image could use some sharpening, imho).
I am inspired by Klimt (I know, I know, it’s corny), Dali and all these talented people who’s blogs I read every day 😉
